Held By Nature Massage with the Animals

A therapeutic and grounded outdoor session designed to help you reconnect with your body. Nature has a way of creating that support without asking anything from you.

These sessions are held at Parkton Place, where the environment itself becomes part of the work — inviting your body to slow down, soften, and settle in a way that often happens more naturally outside. Each session is guided by what your body needs in real time, blending somatic techniques, myofascial work, and intuitive touch to gently release holding patterns and restore balance.

You may also be in the presence of animals during your session, including horses and other farm animals. Their calm, regulated nature can offer an added layer of grounding and awareness, though interaction is always optional and led by your comfort. Any interaction is entirely natural and never guided or forced — if they choose to come near, it becomes part of the experience, and if not, the session remains just as supportive.

This is not about fixing. It is about listening.

Sessions are intentionally limited to Fridays to create a more spacious, supported experience. They follow the rhythm of the outdoors and may shift with the weather — if needed, we’ll adjust your session to keep it comfortable and supportive. Horseback Riding

We own seven big horses and there are thirteen on the property in all, plus donkeys and a whole cast of characters. Riding is a real part of life here, not a photo op.

  • Lessons with our on-site trainer — for guests staying with us and for locals coming just to ride.
  • All levels welcome — from first-timers who've never been on a horse to experienced riders.
  • Time with the herd — meet the horses, learn how they're cared for, and slow down to their pace.

Guided tours run 11:00 AM–1:00 PM (stay after 1:00 if you'd like) and 5:00–8:30 PM (come earlier than 5:30 to settle in first). Bring a picnic and enjoy the pond, the woods, the porch, the yard, the barn, and the animals — all of it.

Horseback riding available as an add-on, $80/hour (the hour can be shared by multiple riders), in addition to admission. Book riding.

Parkton Place is thirty scenic acres in rural North Carolina, and it's our home. We live here, we raise the animals here, and we open the doors to guests who want to see what this kind of life actually feels like.
